Product Description
Most indoor Tanning Lotions can be used outside in the sun as well as in a tanning bed. However keep in mind that outdoor lotions and oils contain some SPF (sun protection factor), to protect you from the ultra violet rays of the sun and prevent burning, while indoor lotions do not. If you already have a good tan started or do not burn they would probably work fine. But if you burn easily or want uv protection use an outdoor lotion with a decent spf.

Most Bronzers contain (dihydroxyacetone) or DHA, It works only on the top layer of skin to give you a temporary tan look. Usually taking about 2-4 hours to achieve the finished results. It is great for beginning your tan if you don’t want to wait for results. It is also good to use between tanning sessions to help prolong your tan. It generally wears off in about 3-5 days, depending on the lotion used. Some people prefer to use a bronzer every time they tan to achieve the best possible results. There are many bronzers to choose from, read the label to see what they offer in the way of results.

Spray tan is a method using DHA (dyes) to achieve a tan without exposing yourself to uv rays. There are several ways to obtain a spray tan, both professionally and at home. Though many people object to a spray tan, arguing that it does not look natural, it is a safer alternative to ultraviolet tans, and with proper application, it can look just as natural. Any salon with spray tan services should have someone employed who is trained in the use of their product. They will be able to help you select a tone and application amount that suits your skin tone and creates a natural look. The application process in most professional salons is similar to a shower. There is a booth, like a shower stall, where the customer stand beneath a nozzle that emits a very fine mist of tanning spray. A technician will ensure the proper settings and do the spraying. It can also be done at home with some products, but you have to aply it evenly, and don't over do it. 2-3 light applications over a few days time is better than one heavy application, and I can't stress the evenly enough. You can get streaks if you don't smooth it out evenly. A foam product with temporay dye to ensure that you aply it evenly works best. But I prefer Salons for spray tans they have people trained to give you the best results.

You should always wear goggles over your eyes when tanning in a tanning bed. (Most Salons require it.) Beware of salons that claim their beds are so innovative that you don't need eye protection. Also, closing your eyes, wearing sunglasses, or placing cotton balls over your eyes should never be substituted for tanning bed eye protection.
